The Accidental Comeback…leads to NYC

I confess that I have had the TCS New York City Marathon on the brain since my first workout after Livy was born. She is almost a year and half now, and my workouts, mileage, and races this past year or so have all be geared to getting to the starting line fit and healthy. With 40 just around the corner, I don’t have time to waste. I have not seen age creep into my workout yet, but I know there will be one day in the next few years when a PR will no longer be possible. But for now, I am logging some serious miles and laying down some solid marathon workouts that rival anything I did in my younger years.

I was not planning a baby comeback, but I missed it too much. As a friend pointed out at my last race. I made my Olympic team…it’s been a good career, and from here on out anything else is just icing on the cake. I am enjoying every moment of my “accidental” comeback. But as marathoner,  I don’t think my running career will be complete without tackling one of the best marathons in the entire world. So here goes… NYC, I’m coming for you!
